Every Magic: The Gathering deck runs basic lands — and almost everyone treats them as bulk. But Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, Forest, and Wastes have been a canvas for some of the game's best artists since Alpha: full-art lands, foil treatments, guild kits, secret lairs, one-off promos. Basic Land Registry is a digital museum and set registry for that overlooked half of the cardboard — browse every print ever made, log what you own, rate and review the art, build lists, and see how your binder stacks up.
Think Letterboxd, but for basic lands.
How it works
Have / Foil / Want — on any card tile, click the + button to mark it Have, right-click to mark it Want. Open the card (click the tile) to set Foil, leave a star rating, write a review, or add it to a list. Your binder is saved in this browser the moment you start, and synced to your account the moment you sign in — nothing is lost either way.
The Gem Index — a curation score on your profile (rarity + age + foil + value + how thoughtfully you've filled out your Top 8) shown as a ring. It's a measure of taste, not just collection size.
Top 8 Showcase — pick your eight favorite prints from your binder and give each one a short note. It's the first thing other collectors see when they visit your profile.
Completionist badges — earned on your profile for finishing a set or an artist's full run of basics.
Public profiles — opt in under Settings → Public profile to let other collectors browse your binder, Top 8, and public lists. Off by default state is up to you; turn it off any time and your binder reverts to aggregates-only.
FAQ
Do I need an account? No — your binder works in the browser via local storage. Sign up (free, magic-link email, no password) to sync it across devices, show up in Members, and use Trade Matcher.
Where does the card data come from? Scryfall's bulk data API. Art is hotlinked from Scryfall's CDN, never re-hosted, with credit in the footer.
Where do prices come from? Scryfall, which passes through TCGplayer/Cardmarket pricing. Treat them as a rough estimate, not a live market quote.
Can I import my existing spreadsheet? Yes — Settings → Import collection accepts a CSV with card_id and state columns (the same shape this site exports).
Is this affiliated with Wizards of the Coast or Scryfall? No. Unofficial fan project; not affiliated with or endorsed by either.
